A bespoke outdoor blast chiller designed for a specialist cheese production environment, using cooler external ambient conditions where possible and switching to mechanical cooling when required to maintain the target 5°C temperature.
This created a more efficient hybrid cooling solution that helps protect product quality, support temperature stability and make practical use of the site and available conditions.
A standard cold room or off-the-shelf blast chiller would not have made the best use of the site or the operating conditions.
The system needed to maintain the target 5°C temperature consistently, respond efficiently to changing external conditions and fit within the physical constraints of the available space.
Frost Tech London designed and installed a bespoke outdoor blast chiller that could use cooler external ambient air where possible and switch to powered refrigeration when required.
By taking advantage of natural outside conditions when they were suitable, the system reduced unnecessary reliance on mechanical cooling alone. When ambient temperatures rose beyond the required range, powered refrigeration took over to maintain the correct 5°C target.

The project was designed around the real operating environment rather than forcing the site to fit a standard unit.
To make the most of the available footprint, the installation incorporated a bespoke vertical door arrangement and a layout tailored to the space.
By combining ambient-assisted cooling with mechanical refrigeration, Frost Tech London delivered a more responsive blast chiller solution that helps protect cheese quality, maintain temperature stability and support more efficient operation.

If you need a bespoke cold room or blast chiller solution designed around your site, workflow and temperature requirements, Frost Tech London can help.
